The University of Turku Laboratory of Computer Cartography, or UTU-LCC, founded 1995, is an important research facility at the Department of Geography and Geology, shared with the Department of Biology.
UTU-LCC is an interdisciplinary research unit supporting the use of spatial data in different fields of social and natural sciences. Laboratory supports research and education in Geoinformatics: Remote Sensing (RS), Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Digital Mapping, Digital Image Processing and Personal Navigation.
In UTU-LCC, up-to-date equipment and software packages are available for authorised users. Digital spatial data is available for UTU-LCC's users through PaITuli geospatial data service, from UTU-LCC's own archives and University of Turku Spatial Data Archive
